m900 inop

well, im a little unhappy, i was happily playing with my m900 seconds before i taped it up and painted it. after i finish, i put it back together and now my torch doesnt work. the leds still come on, but no torch. wth is that all about. apparently mine only has the cosmetic master switch, i turned it and all it does is rotate. anywho, aftre some trouble shooting, i hooked the lamp up to the batteries via jumper wires and it wont actiate so now im thinking the bulb is pooched. any other ideas are welcome.

if the bulb is the case what are my options replacment wise, and where would a guy get em?

Follow the path of current through the unit. Sometimes, they use the metal case of the assembly as a conductor. If you took apart pieces and painted them, you may have inadvertantly insulated the pieces from each other, and broken the circuit.

Make sure points where metal contacts metal are free of paint.

The fact that the bulb seems to suddenly not work is odd, though.........

2 places to look are at the bulb cover and the battery compartment cover. Both are points where the (-) is conducted.

no i stuffed the vitals and tapped off the rest. i took the entire torch front assembly off and seasled the houseing to paint. i must be the bulb... seems odd that it would just up and die conicidently like taht, but thats the only thing i can think of.

i remember someone talking about swapping out a surefire bulb assy into a replica m900, i havent had any luck tracking down the thread, but i am considering doing that if its worth the time.
