AirsoftSurgeon Marui Hi-Capa/1911 Lightweight Blowback Unit
new product, available at RW....CNC 6061 instead of cast pot-metal...
http://www.redwolfairsoft.com/redwol...l?prodID=24255 Seems to also include a piston as well, should make for faster blowback and possible better gas consumption, and improve seal to loading nozzle which can add fps.... will make the gun lighter though.... |

Mine got here just now.....custom decided to hassle this for whatever reason....
Reading this thread here: http://airsoft-barracks.com/forums/i...p?topic=3041.0 I was anticipating some issues with my setup because apparently the piston unit that comes with the BBU is of smaller size compare to the SD piston that I was using with SD nozzle, so some were reporting problem with sealing to the SD nozzle. I decided to do 2 wraps of teflon tape around the o-ring groove then sit the given o-ring on top for a better seal, which it did work. The gun now I find cycles faster for sure, and does kick less, double tap becomes more controlled between shot. The gun in hand does not feel that much lighter, which I think is good. I don't have a chrono so I can't say anything about power gain or losses.... Not a necessary mod for everyone, for someone who does some IPSC style shooting it'll be a good mod to have. I decided to get it because my BBU's back thread was stripped a while back but with enough loctite and it held, but I've been wanting to replace with some non-stock solution and this fits the bill... |

So is it worth it to get? I mean, do you find it an improvement or do you like the way the original one feels?

I like it this way to shoot, it jerks less, and makes for quicker double tap...I need to do some test to see if it makes a difference to accuracy of the user...at least so far I think it's worth it....
now if you are making an IPSC race gun, this will be a must get unless you are machining the stock BBU down....I can imagine you can have crazy cycle speed if you have plastic slide... |

Would be nice to see one of these units for the P226. The pot metal one TM uses is total, utter crap.
