Welcome Mia. You're off to a good start here. You've obviously done some reading before starting to post with all the regular noob questions we get 284 756 times a week. That in itself makes a really good impression on members here. They can be rather unforgiving of noobs who do that. Stick around, join in conversations, and have some fun. After all, that's what we're here for. And we definitely need more women involved in airsoft. Nice to have you aboard. EDIT: And I should add on a more personal note - anyone that includes 666 in their user name automatically scores extra cool points with me.

OK, Ronan was banned 6 days ago. I'm assuming it's one of the regular 7-day bans and he'll be back in action soon enough. That's why he hasn't been in here hitting on the new girl yet. lol Figures!
And yeah, I'm a newcomer to this sport too. Started out just as an air gun collector, but my interests have expanded. Going to my first game in just over 3 weeks and really looking forward to it. So for the next few weeks, I still hold the rank of "chairsofter".

On the topic of "presentations" and media there seems to be a split (what else is new) among airsofters. I have sat on both sides and continue to be confused as to the best future concerning the media how airsofters are portrayed.
Here's a ok written article from a woman who tried it out too. Please excercise careful language when presenting our sport. An example in attached article is use of "auto electric rifle" in place of MACHINE GUN. Thanks airsoft article

The best place to learn how the command structure works is at games, as for radio chatter there are a LOT of people who haven't the slightest idea how to use a radio for communication lol
You'll have better luck following organized teams and listening to their radio chatter. I can't speak for anyone else but my team (JSOC) tries to stay close to Canadian forces training for radio procedure. In fact we got VHF radios so we wouldn't have to listen to everyone else wax rhetoric
