Wow! I went online a couple of hours ago to pay some bills, checked ASC and saw this thread. Definitely not the end of the world but still a slam. We'll just have to adapt, adjust, and overcome. Part of me hopes it's like that store that's still open despite the "Going Out of Business Sale" sign in the window for the last ten years.

It's stupid that they are doing this to protect us... I mean who would buy a $500 gun to go rob a store when they can spend $30 at Canadian Tire and get a clear one and then 5 lanes down go and buy the black spray paint for $5 and look it looks real. Also pellet guns don't need a licence and they can easily do more harm to a person than an airsoft gun cause of the lead pellets, those only cost what $150 again at Canadian Tire.

Maybe the gouvernment(excuse my spelling) should make a "Replica Gun" licence and everyone takes that, then you have a way to check on people who order the guns from Hong Kong or where ever. But I am new to this sport only been playing for a year so I don't know all there is to know, but it seems like a good idea to me.

Because Bass Prop, like CT, probably skirts the law by importing only clear stuff. It's possible that there's a Canadian broker or two somewhere that supplies the clear guns for BP, CT, WalMart, maybe Buyairsoft, etc. But that's really just a guess right now. It'd certainly be interesting to find out how they do it.

ya, but i mean like, order airsoft as if they were real guns, but sell them to us as what they are. worst comes to worst, we need a gun license. but i dunno, its late and im off to bed. night ASC:zzz: !

They're not as legal as real guns though.

Somebody manufacture some 6mm copper BBs, then vuala. There are 6mm BB guns that fit under the same category as .177 cal BB guns. "Airsoft? this isn't airoft it's a BB gun"

I think you need to catch some sleep, you're suggesting that those retailers break two or three laws to serve our purposes.

it does not break law smarty, they got legal way to get airsoft in, and airsoft is neither illegal nor legal its in the gray zone, they'll treat it as a gun if its seen public

Donster is suggesting that those retailers order airsoft guns (prohibited devices) by passing them off as real firearms (restricted or prohibited firearms) and sell them like if they were simply real guns, thus bypassing the limitation on importing prohibited devices. Not only it is illegal to import the vast majority of real steel firearms that most airsoft guns are based on, it would be intentionally mis-declaring said guns to customs officials. In addition, it still runs into the problem that selling replica firearm is illegal. I would recommend reading someone's post carefully before getting all righteous indignant for them.
