G&P Breakdown
Ok, so after google'ing and whatnot no links where helpful.
Heres the deal: I need to disassemble my G&P Commando but when separating the receiver halves, the wiring stops it. The fust cannot get past the delta ring, and the gap will not permit the other parts of wire to move freely. My charging handle guide and spring have basically broken (don't ask me how, Ive never ripped on it really) also, after a snow game I've got water in the entire body of it and it needs a good cleaning. I know a few people on the boards have this gun and am looking to my fellow G&P owners to help a brother out Anyway much appreciated. |

The front wiring on all the G&Ps I've worked on was connected via 1/8" disconnects under heatshrink located just inside the handguards. Cut the heatshrink and pull the disconnects apart, and this will allow you to slide the upper forward off of the lower once you have the front receiver pin out. Then, you can re-heatshrink the connectors once it's all back together again.
Broken spring on the charging handle is common on G&P. It's happened to me twice.

Yeah, I killed the charging spring in my brand new vltor body by just... using it. lol. I think that's evidence enough that it's a G&P body.
It's an easy enough fix at least. If you want to "reshrink" the connectors, you can pick up some wrap from The Source and, with a bit patience and a bic lighter, you can rewrap it right up lickity split (if you don't have a shrink heater).
