MP5 A4 question

Hi everyone,

Im kind of new to airsoft , i only own a few TM springers (hand gun)
and the SPAS 12 from TM wich is a great gun BTW

Now im gonna make the move to get an AEG.... my choice is a mp5 A4
i like the look, it take large battery etc.... i missed the christmas cutoff from 007airsoft i cant get one till mid/end of jan 08 (aaarrggghhh) but i could get one from Classic Army next week from AAairsoft

Now i need advice from the pros :P should i wait for a TM or get the CA ?
im very impatient and strongly leaning toward the CA since it got a full metal body and a flashlight included.

any advices comments would be appreciated

Thanks for your time guys !

I say TM. Internals are decent quality. Body maybe plastic but its more than strong enough.

But if you want the esthetic heavy feel, go CA, I know nothing of the internals but they have good bodies.

Get the TM for now. By the time you've used it to death and it needs to be replaced, you should know everything you need to know about the workings of the guns, and then you can replace it with the CA.

That's what I'd do anyway.

Go with jing gong. Full metal and works just as well as a TM. Might need to crack open the mechbox to clean it but for the price of one... worth it. Iv only heard good reviews about them. Oh did i mention they are full metal?

Edit: Oh and JG guns accept TM parts with zero modifications

The JG MP5s aren't all metal, are they? Just their MP5 RAS as far as I'm aware...

I believe JGs have about as much metal as TMs I guess.

Look man honestly, go with CA. JG mp5's arent metal dont let anyone fool you, they just have a metal gearbox but the body is still plastic. I'd take a JG before a Marui simply due to the cost difference though.

CA is your best bet. Some people will tell you their internals arent reliable, but with a NEW ca you shouldnt have a problem, thier quality control has improved greatly recently. It's full metal right away, and you get the flashlight handguard. If you were to upgrade a marui to metal w/flashlight it would probably cost you well in excess of 300$ ontop of the AEG cost, when you can just pay an extra 100$ at the time of initial purchase, the benefits are quite clear.

I have a JG m4a1, not all metal, but very nice non the less. Shoots quite strong, and doesn't really have any wobbly parts on it when you shake it. I've took it to one game and it preformed very well, and it was in -3 while snowing.

i got my CA mp5a2 /w flashlight foregrip from aasurplus.

cons:
had wobbly foregrip and fullstock
(turns out both of them had broken plastic pieces) ended up replacing them.

if you are picky (like me)
then minor details will bug you... the front sight and flash hiders for the CA mp5 isn't as detailed as the TM.

CA 200 round high cap was wobbly as hell..
G&P mid caps are wierd (1 was perfect fit, 2 were wobbly but not as bad as CA, and 1 was too tight of fit)

guarder flash hider wasn't perfect fit.

pros:
stock internals are fine
quick disassembly (TM is more hassle)
TM mags fit perfectly (might differ gun to gun)
metal body (its heavy though :P)
*most aftermarket products fit ..

i dunno thats all i can think of
http://airsoftcanada.com/showthread.php?t=48460
heres some pic of my mp5.. just scroll down

just to note.. the wobbly foregrip can be fixed by adding some hockey tape where the tabs are.. i gaurentee you will need to do this with the CA.

TM is your best bet for a starter gun. i was in your boat not too long ago and some members were nice enough and even let me call them to ask these questions. CA are good. but out of the box, you might have to worry about replacing parts, TM, you dont. Parts im referring to are the piston head and hop up unit. unless you are familier with taking apart a mechbox, get the TM, it will last you longer. Save the CA (like i am) for later when you can buy it and immediately replace the stock crap parts.
thats just my 2 cents.
