Video Production-Need Realistic Airsoft

Hello, I'm doing a video production for my Communication and Video Production 20 class, and I'm needing a realistic Airsoft gun. I was searching around already, and i saw this.

It is the Shell ejecting, M4/M16. I was wondering if they are being sold in Canada. The only place i could find it for my price range, is directwholesaleproducts.com/airsoftM2037.htm (i dont want to advertise so i took the direct link capability away) And that website looks a little shady... I was wondering if anyone knows a place in Canada where i could buy this airsoft gun. Or, if you know a better gun that is cheap for myself to use. The reason i was wanting to use that, is because it has an actual bang sound. Instead of having a vrumm-vrumm-vrumm from the numerous electronic guns. And it has the ejecting shells, and smoke. How could you go wrong for a 25$ gun that is very realistic. It would be great for my kind of production.

Thanks

It does have screw holes but I don't know any other gun that ejects shell casings. It is for school so does it need to be that realistic? And don't worry about the sound of the gun, just go over it and edit in a gun sound. It will sound horrible even with caps if you don't because you will get background sound like leaves and twigs snapping and voices, breathing etc.

First off, hello and welcome to Airsoft Canada.

Unfortunetly I cannot think of any retailers in Canada at which you can aquire this item.

Secondly before I state anything else, please know that you are not the first to come to this website seeking information about airsoft guns in the personal use of videos. A small budget unfortunetly will keep you strictly limited in what you can use or aquire.

Essentially, the only other information I recommend is a dollar store gun, repainted very nicely, and then computer added, flash, sound and shell ejection.

I was thinking of suggesting that he add in shell casings via the computer but that would take a hell of a long time to do and it's be almost impossible to get it to look right without some form of training.

You are probably not 18 so airsoft is illegal for you.
You probably do not know that a decent airsoft AEG is around 600$.

Now that you know, here is what you should do;

A: I'm 18 and I'm interested in airsoft more than for just my short film so I will buy a decent AEG.

B: I'm not 18 and I don't have 600$. I thought all airsoft guns were under 100$ and so I will go buy some clearsoft and paint it black since it's for a film at school anyways.

Why the heck did you choose the name Farmb0y? That is annoying as seeing someone call themselves CDN_Sta1ker. Farmboy is a very respected guy around here and the owner of One Shot Tactical, and I can see him getting a bit miffed at someone choosing a lame name such as that. Surely there were other names yo ucould have chosen.

We could give him a custom title: "Not the real Farmboy".

most simple plan:

crossman smith weston tactical shot gun - it has the least clear parts
i acquired one for free (its powerful as all hell), and i painted the only single clear part and the orange tip in about 5 minutes including take apart...which was insanely easy.

beh why give him a custom nickname. why not give the real farmboy one. like gear dealer extraordinare.

and on the topic of guns in film. why don't you try contacting a local gun club. you might be able to get someone with actual experience to help you out. also this way it wont be you handling the guns. i just shot some ww2 stuff on a thesis film and thats what we did.

I apologize for the name, but this is the name i have used for ages. I would have chosen Farmboy, but it was taken. My apologies. And this film is a "short film" and it is being entered in a contest to win $5,000. Along with the school project. So i was wanting to make it the most convincing gun as possible without actually being a firearm. And no i am not 18, so i will not be using it. The older members of the group will be. And, CDN_Stalker, why on earth do i deserve that? For past expierience with guns, i have been a paintballer for 4 years, and i hunt, both deer, and geese/ducks. For the sounds, the video is taking place inside a building. So the sounds will be miniscule. Is there a possibility to get this airsoft gun? Or is it a lost cause?

Thanks to the people who actually replied to my topic, instead of posting off topic crap in my thread. I appologize for my attitude, but it is unnecessary to post if not on topic.

If you had filled in your Profile we'd know where you were. This type of project has come up before. I'm pretty sure some legal-age Airsofters in your area would help you out with weapons and technical assistance.

The problems you are facing with airsoft, since you are under 18, are mostly legal. You cant own one, and you certainly cant use one just anywhere. We cant even use an airsoft anywhere we want.

The others are financial (costs). This is all written down in the FAQ section.

The short answer is to forget it. Your experience with real guns does not matter at all. If it did, I'd be a happy man. So... inform yourself further.

And yeah, nobody here reads minds. If your profile does not give your basic location (province/city is enough), then local people cant give you alternative options or offer you a location where this could be done.

As for the shell ejectng item you seek.

I dont think its possible to find one easily in Canada. Due to the way airsoft is in Canada, most players prefer to buy higher quality items that are practical. in a load out. In turn the Canadian retailers will essentially only stock what is wanted. A shell ejecting gun maybe fun to plink around with but it is not really good for gaming as you can lose or step on the ejected casings and break them. There maybe a few of these items in Canada that private collectors have had importers bring at their own cost, but like I said before, its not practical for your every day airsofter.

Your previous experiance in paintball and experiance with real firearms may seem like an asset but in reality does not truely help that much when it comes to airsoft. Paintball is not airsoft and unfortunetly the rules that apply to real firearms do not apply to airsoft.

If computer animation for shell ejection is a stretch, you just be stuck with sound effects and clever angles.
