Maruzen M870 shell operation Q.
so when loading the shell, with say, 3 bbs, is it better to have the bbs nearer the base of the shell, or the top for proper firing?
ps 10 bbs? lmao please, i could spit them further |

If you want some fun just go with 5-6 .12 BBs. That's how I used to do things with mine and it gave me some nice results. As far as where to load them I just made sure the BBs were loose inside the shell rather than having one blocking the o-ring.

You can shoot 10 bb's at a time if you do a CO2 conversion. I was lucky enough to get one that had the CO2 conversion mostly finished. I would recommend doing that if your handy with gas systems and have a general understanding of how the 870 works.

-----------Brakoo-------------- i lolled out loud(in my personal firing range no less) when i shot out those 10 .12s and they wish washed all over then dropped promptly to the ground. at LEAST they work better than 10x .2's! now to try 9x .12s then 8x...etc |

.12 conclusion
10 - too sporadic 9 - too sporadic 8 - little sporadic 7 - pretty decent 6 - good 5 - good 4 - few bbs, few quality bbs at that 3 - might as well use .2s 2 - might as well use .2s 1 - lol.. |

1 - (flew straight at the ground not 10 feet from the barrel. retest.) Flew out hit the 40 foot mark and right angled to the left
2 - 2 bbs flew straight nearly touching, then split apart violently after 30-40 3 - good grouped flight to the 30 foot mark, hit the ground as no hop up. 4 - wouldntve hit a human sized target at 30 feet. all went straight till 30 feet, then 3 flew off right, left and down. (im starting to think this is a very unreliable scatter pattern gun) 5 - all 5 flew straight till bout 25 feet and dropped as in no hop up. 6 - good flight, but hit the ground before the 20 foot mark 7 - 2 foot spread till bout 20 8 - useless scatter 9 - useless scatter 10 - laughable scatter i know this isnt a scientific test, but i thought id add some of my own input regarding this 870 and .12s seems like the power:scatter:range is VERY unpredictable. that's my conclusion |

Yeah you got your result there hence why I say 5-6 .12 is the best if you intend to use the shotgun the way it's meant to be used. That's how I did it with mine and if you use it properly you'll get good result, by that I mean switching to the pistol for the longer shot.

I'm using randomly 3-5 bb's .12 per shells. 10 is just trowing a bunch myself. Range is acceptable but the objective is CQB. And when you shoot is more like ''Dodge This'' because the effect is random.
How much shell do you shoot with a fill ?? I use Propane in mine and i have shot over 80 shells so far with a fill. |

I used .12's in my M1100 and M870 for best results and max FPS.
You have to take off the stock and clamp the hose tightly to the valve head cause all gas Maruzens come with a rigid/leaky hose. It's tough with a wood stock since there's not much room inside for a hose clamp, the plastic stock is roomy so the mini clamp fits nice. I used to shoot 8-10 bbs per shell at good speed in CQB.
