THinking of getting into airsoft
Hey I'm new to airsoft. Never played it and never touched a gun.
But i really want to get into it tired of playing with paintball and wasting $200 a game. I herd airsoft is WAY cheaper to play but a little expensive to get started. Umm I was actually thinking about getting a cheap gun not a high quality like Tokyo Marui if they are high quality... i dont know... I was just thinking of getting a "clone" of those guns im just going on what I have been researching. Only canadian airsoft retailer i have found sells premium airsoft guns... I wanna know if a airsoft gun will be allowed over borders from the USA or where in canada i can buy cheap airsoft guns (not from canadian tire tried one and it broke) So yea. like i said i know nothing so any info I SHOULD know would be awesome thanks! |

WHATEVER you do DONT order from the states. customs will surely snag your gun, destroy it and you wont get your money back. Your honestly better off buying a TM straight away, it'll last you longer than a clone. before you buy any guns get age-verified. You gotta be 18+ to buy an airsoft gun! Also, read the many FAQ's on this site, believe me, they WILL help you.

Well your experience with the cheap Canadian Tire gun is about what you can expect from a cheap gun, not worth the money.
You CAN NOT import a gun from the US or elsewhere it will be seized and worst case scenario you are charged with illegal importation of a restricted item. Unfortunately airsoft is not cheap to get into your best bet is to fill out your profile completely with your location and age, you realize airsoft is restricted to 18+. Get age verified you will have access to the classifieds forums and you may find something in your price range. Also read the FAQ all the information you seek has been talked about many times over and can be answered there. |

The Frequently asked questions part of the forum should answer a lot of your questions.
Unfortunately, there are barely any Canadian airsoft gun retailers, your best bet is the classifieds right on this forum. You have to be 18 or older (and verified) to access it. If you want a clone, it will still set you back about $250-300 or so. Welcome to ASC. Cheers, Alex

hey, some answers to your questions but please check through the forums or use the search button next time, you question has probably been asked and answered.
In the end, I personally believe that airsoft is a cheaper sport and hobby than a lot of the other things they have out there. In comparison to paintball, much cheaper, considering ammo costs a fraction of paintballs. You won't be able to import airsoft guns from outside the country, it's illegal and will get confiscated. Only people who have the license and documents stating they can import airsoft, can import airsoft. Which also costs lots of money to get to my understanding. In my opinion, you're better off starting with a gun that is high quality, it'll last longer and be more enjoyable in the end. If you're in a rush, don't be. Wait patiently and save up for your gun, and you'll be thankful in the end. If you're looking for a gun, check the canadian retailers at the top, and it'll give you some places where you can shop. They'll only sell to you if you're 18+, and to my knowledge right now you can only get airsoft from A&A surplus, and possibly 007. Also, if you are 18, check the forums for the Age Verification thread, find a member that lives near you, and PM them. That way, you can search through the classifieds threads, where you'll find lots of good quality airsoft guns, and usually cheaper than retail with extra odds and ends. hope this helps! -Daiv |

well i was actually thinking about buying a G3 SAS clone... but would that be considered a replica firearm since it isnt actually a replica of any gun? Customs only stop REPLICA guns right?

If it looks like a gun it will not make it. You're talking semantics now and trying to skirt the rules to suit your want's.
Everyone has been very nice thus far don't push your luck, read the FAQ before asking more questions about importing. While you're at it read about age verification and where you can legally use a airsoft gun. Last edited by sarcastro; June 25th, 2007 at 20:12.. |

Shhh... you'll hurt his feelings.
In response to rabid - You really do get what you pay for in this game. Go with a good gun, as it may put you back 500-600+ any other stuff you may want, but its better then buying a clone, using it for four or five games, and then deciding that you would rather get a better gun to play with. |
