Tasmanian tiger chestrig question...

I got it from flecktarn.co.uk...

I would like to know what these large velcro straps on the ammo pouches are for?

What kind of vest is it. Most of my team has the TT ammunition assault vest and I have to say its a great vest. Like all German gear its built to last. That flap is if you want to use the velcro or not. When its flipped over like in your picture you just use the buckles. Id suggest to tuck in the flap and use the velcro. It makes changing mags a bit quicker and makes sure you dont lose them.

Thanks, I had not noticed the velcro inside the pouch flap.

I considered getting the TT vest at first, but this chest rig was $50 cheaper. It's basically the same, minus the extra space on the chest. I'm guessing the vest might be more comfortbale in the long run, but since we don't carry real ammunition, it can't be that bad.

It's a velcro silencer, lots of issue gear (such as British mag pouches, as well as some aftermarket stuff, my HSGI Sniper Waist Pack has them as well) has them, it's so you can open the pouches without the loud "RIIIP!" sound, or you fold it back inside the pouch to add extra security of velcro and buckle when making noise isn't as big an issue as losing mags.

Looks just like the HSGI mag pouches which allow you to silence the velcro and only use the side release buckles...I like the silence but only if there is some sort of elastic retention to help hold the mags in place.

velcro silencers haha, biggest BS scam there is.. great you can open a pouch quietly.. but uh.. if you are opening a ammo pouch it means you are reloading.. so you've already fired off a mag... an yea weapons aren't quiet(real ones) so they already know you're there lol.
