Totally locked up CA36

Hello, I'm an idiot. I purchased a CA36 a while ago and have had problems with it locking up and then all of a sudden working again. After searching the forums I found threads about other locked up CA36s and being a normal male I decided that this would be easy and proceded to try and fix the problem myself. This was a very very bad idea.

I took apart the mechbox and had a very difficult time reassembling it (I'm pretty sure I haven't actually done it correctly). After I hooked up the battery I noticed it still was locked up and after pulling the trigger a few times the trigger itself seems to have locked into place.

I'm hoping that someone here would be able to guide me to either a tutorial for rebuilding a mechbox or somewhere I can just send it in hopes of not letting me break it anymore than I already have.

Also I appear to have lost the little ball and spring for the selector switch.

Thanks,
Undyne

It's really hard to explain how version 3 G36 triggers go back, but take a good look at that unpainted piece that sits weirdly on top of the trigger itself. Make sure it's positioned in such a way that it cannot touch the gear sitting right next to it.

Here is a picture of how I have it set up. I managed to take it apart and assemble it last night without any difficulties but once I plugged in a fresh battery it would't fire. I also notice that when I pull the trigger it has a click at the end like it's getting wedged right before the end of the pull and you have to pull a bit harder. I thought it was the gear closest to it but I've checked over and over and they never seem to make contact.

Thanks again for your help,
Undyne

I would go find a gunsmith and get some one on one action.

Hot!

Do you know of any in the Guelph, Ontario area? or even someone I could just send it off to?

*EDIT*
Just kept trying and I've managed to get the mechbox working. Unfortunatly though once I assemble the gun it still will shoot a bit and then lock up.

I would stop shooting it, in case you stripe a gear or something.

I guess you have the stock spring -

1.make sure your battery is fully charged and working
if you are unsure, discharge/charge it fully again.
check it with a multimeter.

2.check the shimming, the anti-reversal latch position, when you close the gearbox, check that
-the piston snaps in its rails
check the shimming
-the trigger system is properly mounted
check the shimming
-the nozzle is held by the tappet plate
check the shimming
-your underwear is clean
check the shimming

dry fire it with putting LIGHTLY your finger on the nozzle to retain the air so the piston head doesn't slam violently in the cylinder head.
check the shimming
(don't 'seal' it completely with your finger)
pray.

check the shimming again.

What is this "the shimming"? Does it possibly have something to do with the little metal washers? Because I'm not sure exactly how those are supposed to go in.

It works, it looks like it was the shimming! Thanks to everyone for your help!
