Unhappy TM M4A1 not firing, mechbox is fine

Hello,

I've done some upgrades (piston, piston head, spring, spring guide, bushings), stripped some gears, installed Prometheus Torque gears and shimmed them. The mechbox seems fine, I can spin the gears one way quite easily (the spring makes them spin back) but not the other way i.e. the anti reversal latch is working, as well as the gears being connected to the piston and shimmed correctly.

When I connect the motor through the grip, usually nothing happens. There is a soft *click* and when the motor is too far away, a really loud, high pitched noise.

As I fried my 9.6v, I am condemned to using an 8.4v, could this simply have been the problem? I am using a PDI 170% which, in my experience, shouldn't affect it that much.

I've posted before on similar matters on other forums and I've been going through hell with my TM. Please, take the time to help me, my gun hasn't worked properly for half a year. And before you ask, yes, I've searched the internet.

With many thanks,

gLip

my motor did that too (G&G). It seems like it doesnt have enough torque when it makes that click noise.

So what i did was. I took it into work and i hooked up our power supply to it. It would turn when i put in 8.4v/1.8amps. But when it shut it of and on, it wouldn't turn on only after i switched it on or off a few times.

I thought to myself this must have been messed up so i put in 3.3amps and 9v to it. It ran extremly quick. and when i put it into the handguard i would only hear a click, it only means that there isnt enough torque.

i took soft jaw pliers and turned the power on and it wouldnt spin, i'd say get some professional advise or just by another one

you could always buy ultra torque up gears
and G&G isnt exactly famous for their internals
there could also be something jamming the internals from moving

You don't need ultra torque ups for that kind of a setup.

I suggest swapping your motor. Yours could be smoked

my G&G motor was rated at 8.4v 1800ma. I was putting it through 9.6v for over a year and it finaly gave up.

Why not take out the motor and try it to make sure it works?
Hold it down though... otherwise it'll jump around like Frankenstein. (you won't expect it)

At least, try that before you go out replacing it.

Not sure if you have checked this already or not, but is the motor wired properly? (is the motor spinning in the right direction?)
