Need help sourcing material
Okay so I got these new 2x4 pouches from Phantom and I don't know if it's a defect or not but the insert for 9mm mags are way too big and I need to redo them.
Obviously Phantom didn't use kydex like the real Eagle pouches but it's this thick black plastic stock that is covered with a velvet like material on one side (dunno if it comes like that or if it was done afterwards). If you click this link and look at the top of the pouch you can see a bit of this plastic. So would anyone know where I could get something similar so that I can rebuild these pouches and not have my mags slip out at the tinniest bit of movement???

one thing you could try is placing shim material between the plastic and the outer cloth.these would cause the plastic to push in and make it grab a little better. I had a similar problem and it worked great. The bonus is that you can adjust it for different mags and it does look really good.

Good idea but it didn't work, these plastic boxes are so out of proportion it's not even funny, the only option is to rebuild these things...

i have that exact same pouch and i have real eagle m4 and pistol ones.
eagle is just plastic too, like in a binder. not kydex. the phantom is a little less quality for the plastic then the eagle but not by much at all. what i did was velcro out the phantom inserts and cut them down a little bit and rea glued them with hot glue and a little shimming with hockey tape(underneath the velcro) and they work perfectly.

Are you looking for the plastic or the velvet material? Lots of injection molding places around here...

Works like a charm, should of thought of that instead of trying to completely redo them with new material (I always end up doing shit the hard way). Thanks bro! Just 7 more to go...
