Madbull "HP" 40mm grenade reviews?
Has anyone tried the C02 powered "HP" series (XM204HP or XM108HP) Madbull grenades? As a big M203 enthusiast, I'm always on the lookout for something to give it a little extra stank when I pull the trigger. A few retail sites I've come across claim effective ranges of 80-100 feet, but I'd much rather hear from someone who has used it, and isn't trying to sell me something
On that note, can any of the canadian retailers get Madbull stuff? I've bought some Madbull tightbore barrels (excellent!) from US retailers, but the grenades are something I most definitely want to get inside Canada...

I have the VOG25 96rd High Power B.B. Shower from Madbull. And their RG108 108rds Rifle Grenade BB shower.
Yes those HP do shower 80 to 100 feet. (60ft with Propane) I did run into leakage problem with their VOG25 96rd HP. One of the O-ring they used for the inner lock-ring was too thin to fill in the gap. ( a 0.05mm thick O-ring to fill a 0.17mm groved gap ) This was an easy and simple fix. Just replace O-ring with a thicker one. ( I went with a 0.20mm ) What I didn't get was both the VOG25 96rd and RG108 108rds are exact same design and same material used inside yet, the RG108 108rds is rated only for GreenGas/Propane while the VOG25 is rated for CO2. Weird. The tiny oring that prevent gas leak during refill blows out very easily. That doesn't affect it's operation, just be a little more careful when you push the CO2 adaptor in. Resetting the valve is very simple. just push the primer button all the way in and it's ready for refill. Disassembly and re-assembly are very simple. Over all a great buy. All I know is only RedWolf carries almost all kinda of MadBull grenade. ( I know cuz I was there) However you'll have to wait for a RedWolf group order from ASArmoury.

I have one of the XM204HP ones. Very nice power but the depression trigger has a tendency to get jammed. You have to make sure that is is reset completely everytime. If not, the CO2 sprays out badly when filling and sometimes, if the grenade is already filled with BB's, spray them out all over the place.
Pros: -Lots of power -204 rounds -Robust design, easy to take apart and maintenance (just don't loose all the bearings) Cons: -Have to get a CO2 adapter (I picked up the XM Charger Plus with the regulator, also adaptable as a PB tank regulator) -Really sticky trigger, easy in, horrible to get it to come back out, even after lube... -Shell is rather large, hard to get in and out sometimes... (see pic for size) Picked up both the adapter and grenade from Redwolf, prior to the postal changes... Dammit... Last edited by Daes; February 27th, 2007 at 13:01.. |

Thanks for the reviews guys! Man, that XM204HP is *HUGE*. Roughly how many fills of a shell do you get from a 12 gram c02 powerlet?
I think I'll try to lay my hands on the XM108HP ones so they'll still fit in my webgear

May want to check out laws now surrounding the M203's before you start spending more cash on them. M203's are now required to be registered.
Mostly just for peoples info, but I would take it into consideration when planing purchases of M203s, or shells for them. If caught with them, you could face some hefty fines, confiscation, and or jail time. Just the same for being caught with an unregistered fiream. Honestly, if I actually owned airsoft ones, I would keep them hidden and not register them, because its BS, but its up to the individual what they do I guess, I would just not be bringing them out to games, or at least not be getting pictures taken of me with them. Info can be found here. http://www.canadiangunnutz.com/forum...d.php?t=133595 *EDIT* And yes, this does include Airsoft 203's/GL's. Government doesn't care to destinguish between the two.

Heh, I use a 20 oz bottle and get quite a few charges from it. The XM charger is great because is also serves as a regulator (can unscrew the top and use it as a PB bottleside regualtor also!). I always fill at around 600psi (field games), but if needed (ie CQB), can dial it down. Though a bit pricey, I would reccommend getting it if you are getting any MadBull C02 XM products.
