Help with MOSFET Switch
im doing some upgrades on my G&P M16 SAM-R and i am going to put in a Systema drop in mechbox (M120) and its going to be pumping out about 400FPS, now i will only be useing semi because of some Feild Rules and im told that i will need to get a MOSFET Switch so i dont burn out my Systema Magnum Motor that im going to put in aswell.
so... my questions are; do i need to even get a MOSFET Switch using a AEG that shoots at 400FPS? what are some good companies that sell just MOSFET Switchs? im know of HurricanE and Gurader(which i also hear is bad for upgrades) Which MOSFET switch should i get using a Systema Mechbox with a M120 spring(400FPS) ? and is there a way to turn a AEG that has AUTO and SEMI to just SEMI? Thanks For Your Help SWAT Last edited by -SWAT-; December 21st, 2006 at 01:10.. |

There are Systema mechboxes that come with the FET switching built into the package. Just get one of those.
BTW, the FET switching does NOTHING for your motor, good or bad. It just removes potential arcing and damage from occuring to the standard switch contact assembly. AEG's are desinged and function best as full auto first. Semi is a design integration into a basically full auto set up.

I do believe systema makes mosfet-based switches, but its cheaper to make your own: http://www.airsoftmechanics.com/guides.php?aid=14
Failing that use a relay of appropriate amperage from a vehicle. Reference turning AEG into semi-only, that sort of defeats the purpose of Auto Electric Gun. Simply prevent fire selector switch from going onto 'auto' position? A screw to limit its turnability? Argh mcguyver, you must have an extra typing arm... It's actually cheaper, easier and more reliable to buy a FET switch premade. I've only been working with electronics for 15 years, but I may be wrong. You can buy them from under $40 U.S., vs $40+ for just the parts, your time and your result will be fugly and be unreliable, unless you're an electronics and fabrication god.

I picked up a m150 systema box and dropped the spring down to a m120
it cycles blazing fast and shoot within 2 fps every shot amazing very good investment if ya ask me im not even sure what to expect for rof when i drop down to the m90 spring for indoor use but ill bet it will crank em out good ...
