8mm/shell ejecting questions
I was wondering why these two things weren't a little more widespread, or rather, why they seem to be exclusive to WWII guns.
On shells/casings, what is it about WWII guns that makes people give up skirmish practicallity for the 'cool' effect? I guess WWII guns are more likely to be collected and not skirmished, but still... Also, WWII guns seem to have more forgiving rates of fire (BA, semi-only as opposed to most modern guns having at least semi/full-auto), so you don't end up in a pile of casings (or having to pay for a pile of casings), but that shouldn't stop manufacturers from making shell/casing ejecting shotguns or sniper rifles (M1100 and similar, super9, M82 would be exceptions, although the super9 is crap). Why aren't there shell ejecting SPAS-12s or M3s? M24s and L96s? On 8mm, exactly what are the differences in performance between 8mm and 6mm? What about them would make them more common among WWII gas powered rifles (other than the cool factor again, of firing a larger calibre round from a gas gun for a bigger boom)? I suppose there are more exceptions for this, including more modern guns that should have a very big boom (DE, BHP). Haha, I guess I answered a lot of my own questions. Still, what about the modern sniper rifles or shotguns?

To my knowledge only Marushin makes widespread shell ejecting guns around these days.
And to me Marushin company seems hyper anal about the realism of how the guns work. (I own a Marushin k98, resembles the real thing a lot) Kar 98, M1 Garand, P38 for a few. Also Marushin is the only company that uses 8mm, why I have no idea. But I like the fact that my Marushin shoots 8mm BB's as the real steel was shooting 7.92's. I havent used the 8mm a whole lot, but it tends to be more instable in flight. So your gun must shoot high FPS to achieve some reasonable accuracy. But again, this 8mm fact just an other example how Marushin is trying to be different from other companies, or rather just try to introduce new (good)ideas to the sport, which still must be refined. I am glad I own a Marushin k98, it is a unique piece, but I would give an arm n' a leg If I could get a 6mm Marushin K98 springer, I wonder how they perform....
