Coleman Propane bottle leaking.
I just got a propane adaptor from a forum member. I tested it out a bit and it worked quite well. However I noticed that when I removed the adaptor the gas from the propane bottle began to leak slowly. It wasn't leaking heavily but it was making a hissing sound. When I reattached the propane adaptor back on it was still making the noise. I took it out to my balcony to let it air out a bit far from any ignition source. I'm wondering if its leaking because.
A) Temperture differentiation from the Car to the apartment B) The altitude differentiation. (I'm on the 9th floor) C) Just plain bad luck and I got a bad bottle.

probly just a shitty bottle, but just to be sure buy a new one and put your adaptor on it and see what it does.

is the valve at the top of the bottle clean? maybe something is holding it open like a small peice of metal? or its a lemon.

My moneys on the bad tank. As I have seen plenty of them. Hell I even broke a few tanks(by accident making them leak). And nothing beats the old propane rocket across a lake. (my guess it wasn't quality controlled cause as it was dropped the end ruptured and the tank flew clean across a lake.) Man can those suckers go. and all i did was put it down started hearing a hiss then a bang got my head down and well watched.

Leave the adaptor on? At least it wont leak then.
I wouldn't suggest leaving it in the household if its leaking like mad. Heh.
