Classifieds Clog

Ive latley been trying to trade my M4 CQBR for a G36 and have been going through the classfieds PM'ing to see if people are interested. It seems like evey other PM i get back is "Sorry Man, already sold it" Im not trying to complain, and i have no clue how hard it is for people to take care of this, but i think the classifieds need some titying up. If youve sold your item, label the title to be cleaned out, or if your selling multiples, say what has been sold in the thread. I know im guilty of this too, and I am labeling my stuff as we speak. Like I said im not trying to stir shit up, just trying to remind people to update, and make it easier for the admins of ASC and other users.

NOT A BITCH

I agree and have had the exact same situations. I sent 2-3 pms last night to items I thought were still up for grabs, but got pms back saying sorry, sold already. Its no big deal, but still, very disturbing when you something you like and get ur mind set on it only to have missed out by a few days and not know it.

Personally one thing I tend to do when surfing the classifieds is that if it has not been bumped by the seller in 3 weeks, I assume its sold and ignore it. I dont delete it as a mod just in case its not sold, but maybe this is something we should look at doing.

If you've run into it a lot, you can be sure other people have too. I have a couple times here and there, it's annoying and frustrating. I remember buying a vest a while back and it was still up for sale for about 5 months after I had already bought and received it.

actually posts are auto deleted after a certain period of time (a few months) of inactivity

that still a few months of the problem. one idea i had was that when you bought something from a thread, the buyer should post that he/she had bought that item. Its one idea, and doesnt solve the issue of the already clogged threads alreay out there, but the bump that the post makes benefits the seller as well as other ASC memebers. Regardless, if all item(s) have been sold, the title should day. SOLD.

I agree with KG3. It takes all of 30 seconds to edit your post to include "SOLD" in the title.

Right, and I cant speak for the rest of you, but im sure when ur saying these posts are not 3 weeks old or so, but the ones I wanted last night had been recently bumped and such, therefore they were on the first page.

Agree with Black Orchid, very frustrating indeed.

Even if it becomes a rule, i see it becoming the same as softair guns and faqs. They just get ignored. Even worse, we wont know that they are not compling until we ask them if its for sale. Back at square one. I started this converation as a rant, it seems that it should end with a solution for all of us and the fellow members of ASC. Does anyone else feel like were like a pack of elders or something? no? ill put my beer down...

Indeed, but a few months is ample time for people to get their hopes up over items that have already been sold. All because some people can't be bothered to put "SOLD" in their thread or beside the sold item. Sorry for being a broken record, I know all that has been said, but it is very frustrating. Especially if you find a rare item.

Agreed on all accounts. It applies to all items, AEG,GBB,accesories, gear and NAR. Could you give warings out for that wiseowl or would that take quite a bit of work. Im afraid i dont understand how hard your work can be at times, with so many members.
