WA .45 SCW slide cycling problem

Hey guys, I have a stock version 1 WA Wilson Combat CQB and have been having troubles with the slide cycling. Basically, i shoot it once, a bb fires and the slide cycles with it. The next shot, however, the bb shoots, but the slide doesnt cycle back, hence not loading the bb. This action repeats if i cock back the slide to load the next bb.

I've taken apart the blowback/loading nozzle assembly with a local WA expert, but there was no problem of any o-rings failing or anything.

On further inspection of the lower receiver, i found a very small bump/crack in front of the hammer, well, in front of what i think links to a firing pin to press the gas release on the mag. When cocking the slide manually i notice a very small amount of friction from it, though im not sure if its enough to cause the slide to not cycle.

I havnt tried to see if a highflow valve would work, though someone suggested that that may work. I was just curious if anyone else has had a problem like this before and knew any other solutions.

Are you shooting warm propane? It sounds like a light strike issue that you're having. Try chilling your mag in the fridge for 5-10min before shooting again. If that fixes the problem, then I'm guessing that your hammer spring isn't stiff enough to bash the firing pin far enough for your mag valve to acheive lockup. WA mags have a lock which holds the valve open until the slide recoils significantly.

If this is the problem, then try dropping a bb into your hammer spring well to increase the hammer spring preload. This hits my Guarder hammer spring sales, but it's a quick easy fix that works until really hot summer days.

Also check if your nozzle valve reed is moving freely. The bb pushes it rearwards. It's supposed to spring forwards when breech pressure drops sharply (no bb in barrel) and force the cycling of the slide.

I have a very similar problem ( in fact probably just a slightly different manifestation of the same problem ) with my CQB. Mine happens only on very hot days, and only on duster, which is the only thing I use in my WAs. When there is a bb in the chamber, the slide doesn't cycle far enough to pick up the next bb. When there is no bb in the chamber, the slide does cycle far enough and picks one up. I therefore have to fire the thing twice for every bb I want to fire. And the bbs often come out very weakly, and with a big "popping" sound for lack of a better word. When there is no bb, the cycle seems fine, and the sound is normal as well. Should I try the same fixes, MadMax? Or is it different since I'm not using Propane?

Thanks MadMax, the slide seems to be cycling regularly now. I have been using duster and didnt realize that a warmer mag could be causing some of the problems (after tuning indoors). I also lubed the firing pin, mag valve lock and the nozzle reed valve as you suggested these may be problem points, and it seems to be doing the trick. Only thing I have to do now is go out there and field test it : )
