Lets Get Deep

High Speed Low Drag is an operational state of mind.

It applies to gear, operators and operations.

It means approaching every aspect of an operation, from gear to people to tactics, in the most efficient manner possible (high speed) while minimizing the the murphy factor and known obsticles that threaten the sucsessful outcome of the operation (low drag).

It may not have started off that way but I think that is what it has become.

Perhaps a little Sun Tsu.

I guess I'm the only one seeing Aviation everywhere with that term... a nice sexy sleek beatiful F-14 Tomcat... blasting those twin engines... roaring forward at high speed... and low drag off them sweet sensuious curves of that sexy fighter jet...

wait what we talking about?... Gear?... well then just use a basic understandment of phyics... the less drag you have the faster you will go with a set ammount of thrust!... yeash...

I'll trade an AMMORY of M4A1's and M16's ANYDAY for an F-14... as long as it flies... I don't need cannons or missles or shit... but DAMN... $5 of fuel a minute... and thats at cruising speeds.... get into the fancy mach speeds... O-o.. you'll be shooting a country too to pay your fuel bill :P

The first thing that comes to mind for me is Aviation, Dracheous.

''High speed, low drag go faster gucci kit'' is the full expression. You can apply it however you want to.

In aviation there are two couples, Weight and Lift, Thrust and Drag. Weight and lift are what pulls the plane up or down. Thrust and Drag would be ''Speed and drag.'' Drag is either Parasite or Induced. (A wing creates lift so you can't get rid of the drag it produces(Induced), the body of the aircraft does not so you can modify the body(make it smoother) to get rid of that drag(Parasite)).

The next time something slows you down it's causing Parasite Drag. Unless any of you know how to fly without the aide of an aircraft. Drag is things like resistence to air. Or trying to run through brick walls. Things that slow you down. Like fat.

Thanx for bringing up the aviation side of it. Surprised Stalker didn't. But he's not the pilot type. He's the type who builds them. (sort of).
