Search button may also render many good reasons TO buy the Famas.
I had the SV, and it was awesome. For what it was. That's a very subjective thing, and not knowing anything about you, it'd be impossible to tell you if it's right for you. Go find someone who has one. Get your hands on it. Shoot it. Read about them, see if they sound right for you. Nobody can answer that for you. |

I like mine in the sense that people shit themselves when they see how many bb's come their way. 1700 mah 8.4v will conquer all. Range is a bit short though. I hate it because it broke very early in its career. Too much damn plastic! And NOWHERE will fix it- no one has the parts.

Like DanQuayle said, very fast rof, I think its the fastest stock aeg. Also the bullpup means a longer barrel then guns of the same size. My brother owns one and I've played with it a couple times. He loves his gun, but thats cause its a gun he really enjoys. Its all preferences.
some of the downsides are its an all plastic body and creaks like a mofo. The battery case is open to the air with a huge rectangle hole running the whole length of the battery on the top, just under the handle. Because of this when it starts to rain I'd recommend getting that gun under some cover or it could soak through.

There's my review of it. On the final page, I've posted an anti-creaking guide, guaranteed to make it so that you can stop almost all creaking with a 10-minute modification, all you need is some tape. It's a great gun, highly recommended. I just like the F1 more, I find the bipod is dead useful and the trigger-guard isn't as 'sci-fi' style.

I just bought one. Haven't gotten it though :rrr:. I too prefer the F1. Partly for its bipod and partly because the trigger guard is more conventional. Don't really like the full hand guard the SV comes with.

Quick question:
Has anyone ever had serious problems with the [unmodified] INTERNALS? I had mine for only a little while, so I never really had a chance to put a good number of shots through it. I'm just wondering, because besides the plastic body, I never could find a good reason not to like it. It was a little short on range, but the ROF, and the accuracy were quite likeable, and it was pretty comfy to hold. I just never knew how long those internals would last. aside: I really liked the detensioning button... |

Nope, never had a problem with the internals.
Twice, I've had the gun seize up on Semi, but a 2-second burst on Auto will fix that. I find that it's a great gun, I've had no problems so far.

No internal problems really, just don't drop it.

Heh. The anti-reversal latch on mine crapped out. Doesn't affect the firing, it's still a BB hose...but I gotta tear the goddamn thing apart....AGAIN.
(oh, and with a neat little modification to it and some aftermarket parts, you can stuff a PSG-1 length tightbore inner barrel into it and add only about 3 or 4 inches to the overall length. So much for "short ranged") -J
