I used to use the CF 82 pattern webbing with the Sterling SMG mag pouches (hold two mags per slot), but mid season this year I put together a US vest with PALS webbing (that MOLLE attaches to) and got a custom made MOLLE MP5 triple mag pouch by at Tiger Tactical, and just recently got a triple SMG drop leg mag pouch.

I use a rig with double m4 mag pouches, each pouch holds 4 mp5 mags perfectly.

Double M4 mag pouches are also great for holding MP5 mags with the dual mag clamp attached. Actually, it's a perfect fit!

When I used MP5's it was the simplest load out ever. I just used a Milforce Three mag drop leg pouch. Mind you this is when I was in a small club and didn't fire much. I also worked with a guy that had plenty of ammo on him at all times so....
But I still loved it and if I picked up another MP5 as a backup I'd probably do the same thing again. |

that tac m7 vest should hold 16 mags (4 per pouch). that should be enough lowcaps for most cqb encounters, but you could always use midcaps as well. some generic chest rigs that hold 3 m4 mags/pouch will hold 6 mp5 mags. generally for all my gear each m4 mag=2 mp5 mags as far as storage capacity is concerned. a dump puch is handy for those spent mags, too.

i use a maxpedition rolly-polly. big for mp5, but good for ak mags. they make several sizes and many tactical retailers sell it. only about $30.

just about any vest for m4 magazines is good for mp5 mags. i personally prefer ones meant for one mag per pouch (such as an eagle vest, or single m16 mag molle pouches) because once one of the mags is removed, the other still sits in there pretty well. there are plenty of smg pouches as well. just check out www.optactical.com
surprisingly my favorite mp5 setup is actually my nam gear. the triple m16 pouches (alice) i have on it have these dividing strips and hold 6 mp5 mags very well, you can't close the top, but you can wrap it over the top of the mags, holding them securely.

Whatever next order from "x" manufacturer brings for SMG-type gear...
Seriously tho, mostly Tiger Tactical. Black tac vest 4x double SMG mag pouches etc. etc. Plan on getting a drop-leg system sooner rather then later. Current drop-leg has a med pouch filled with - surprise, surprise - medical supplies, for daily life. Or, to be more accurate, when I can have it riding shotgun in front of the vehicle with me. I can never have it attached while driving either the Civic or the Jetta. Just too dam big.

Paraclete MOLLE plate carrier w/2 BHI STRIKE triple SMG pouches, STRIKE hydration pouch on the back and Paraclete upright GP. Nice, simple layout for CQB.
