Absolute best lube for gear box
So what is the best lube you can use inside a gear box to maximize the life of the gears and yet not eat plastic parts or degrade the piston's o-ring?

Just buy good gears.
Gears dont wear out from not having exactly the right grease on them, they just fail due to manufacturing faults or a jam. But the very best grease is going to be certified labs premalube or premalube extreme. Only sold in cases of 12 tubes, around about $1000 a case. This stuff is so incredibly well engineered it can lubricate sand. |

That black sticky grease in my Kriss Vector looks just like Premalube.
but is it safe on rubber and plastic parts? Last edited by SuperHog; February 24th, 2018 at 21:57.. |

premalube is safe to use on plastic, but i guarantee what you've got on your airsoft gun is not premalube.
Maybe some other mediocre dime a dozen moly based grease. |

I guess I need to contact Premalube where to get it in Toronto.

White Lithium grease. I use it in airsoft and firearms. That thing doesn't burn in semi auto rifles after a range day of rapid fire. Still keeps mechanisms lubricated. When it comes to airsoft, Lithium stays in mechbox for months and keeps it lubricated. Lithium grease also doen't get affected my moisture much. Just make sure you keep it away from hopup assembly.

I use slick honey. It's made for bike chains, and other applications for bike builds...but it works flawlessly on slide rails and pistons, gears, bearings, works excellent with compression parts and safe on o-rings! I've been teching for over 10 years now and it has been the best grease I've found so far! Not only is it the best per application, but you can use it on everything! It is expensive, but you don't even need much of it to coat your gears or cylinder etc...

My only concern with SuperLube was I did use it once, only to find that the gears spins it off in a short time.
Premalube is very sticky and stays on spinning gears but impossible to find. Same with bike chain lube, very sticky. I hope Slick Honey has the same properties. |

I'm more of a GBB/GBBR guy, and Superlube has great results.
I guess its time to use Premalube for AEG. Show us a picture which exact one you recommend.
