Lets all just take a moment and realize that this G3 is made from a material that is weldable. Not plastic like TM. Not Zinc alloy like CA and JG... not Magnesium like the G&G body kits that were available long ago. |

If the quality can be better why should we expect less. Their AKs have clean welds, machined parts, and a better finish. I applaud LCT's effort that they actually went to make a gun that is unique and make it right but of course there is always room for improvement. |

Interesting, around what time? Not calling your service into question, but I'd be curious to know if they cranked up the QC since the end of the cold war. Most of the ones I've used have been older rifles.
Yes, it was ...... pretty creaky from what I recall, and the receivers liked to crack.

I was in 2009+. I would have to go back and look at some pictures for exact years, but from what I remember all G3s I used were older than I, think late 70s manufacturing dates.

So was the rifle in some sort of small arms museum?
Usually when that's done they'll either select prime production examples or the weapons from the ordnance trials.

Also keep in mind that the first units did not get their G28s until 2012 (more vanilla units had to probably wait much longer), so the G3A3 ZF/DMR was still used up to at least 2012+ by most units. Last edited by docholiday; November 13th, 2017 at 16:26.. |

So all in all, the air nozzle, and the tappet plate seem to be the problematic parts of this build. What Air Nozzle would be best to help with said air seal issue? The SIG nozzle? Or the G36 nozzle?
Planning on getting one either this Xmas or early next year.

First of all, thank you very much: This is the most detailed review about this gun that I could find anywhere. As somebody who is looking into getting his first more expensive AEG, I just wanted to ask whether installing a Mosfet in this gun is worth it. Apart from the obviously better trigger response, is it going to make the gun last longer? And do you think a person like me, who has little knowledge of AEG internals, could install one himself? Or should I just keep it in it’s stock config?
Thank you very much in advance, if you do happen to see this ![]() |
