Thanks everyone for the replies.
I have another wrench to throw in the gears. The G&G gk47u Posts from Reddit say it's LCT externals with G&g internals and good QC (these were recently released) Thoughts? |

Don't touch the G&G AKs. They are severely overpriced for what they are. They have some proprietary parts, including horrendous grip batteries on some models or useless fake recoil. For pretty much the same price you can get an LCT or E&L AK which are way better.

But this particular model is neither the blowback unit nor does it have the grip battery design..
(edit) so aside from the grip.battery, which this does not have, what are proprietary designs that G&g uses? I tried Google but not really clear, other threads indicate that internals for g&g are interchangeable Last edited by BrokenDiskman; December 3rd, 2016 at 13:58.. |

I recently picked up a Cyma AKS-74U and I'm impressed with it so far. The main reasons I bought one over an E&L like I had originally intended were for magazine compatibility, ease of takedown, and the cheaper price for a gun that included both of those features over the E&L. Another reason I looked to the Cyma AKS-74U is because plenty of people have reported buying them for knock around or back up guns and being amazed at how long they lasted before breaking, even over guns that were $100-$150 more.
As someone who's broken into Cyma AK's a few times, I can say that when something does go wrong, or if you want to upgrade it, they're easy to pop open and there are a plethora of handy Youtube videos to help you do so with each model. Additionally the big reason I decided to pull away from E&L was magazine compatibility. I've had Cyma, Echo 1, LCT, and E&L AK's, and what worked for magazines between these groups was astoundingly frustrating. Cyma's, and Echo 1's, I've discovered have the least magazine compatibility issues, they'll take: Cyma, MAG, Echo 1, King Arms, and G&P magazines, they'll also reportedly take D-Boys and other company's. So there is a massive collection of magazine types and choice for those two choices. The LCT I got to take G&P, King Arms, and LCT mags. As for the E&L... it takes E&L mags. That's it. Nothing else fits and E&L magazines don't fit in anything else. Personally, I like having wild and interesting magazine choices, like the ability to put a sound control drum in my AKS just for fun target shooting, to keep things interesting, so I decided to turn away from E&L because while the external quality and feel is unmatched in my opinion, they are about as vanilla as AK's get, you put E&L mid caps in them and done. Additionally if you had trouble with magazines, with Cyma's you can look almost anywhere for a replacement, with E&L it has to be E&L. That's my experience and recommendation, but it depends on specifically what you want to spend and what you want to do, and what is important to you, be it magazine compatibility, external quality, or takedown ability. |

I own a CYMA ak47 cm042 non blowback , I would recommend CYMA to anyone new or in a budget for Airsoft, his gun is absulotly amazing , the accuracy and range is amazing , I have thrown this gun around and it just keeps taking the abuse. Also with no experience I was able to change my spring out with no trouble making it really easy and simple to work on. Everything is right on the gun with no wobble except maybe a little on the mag.
