Tips for playing 'Capture the flag'
Hi,
Obviously, I'm new to airsoft games. Last summer, my friends introduced me to the game. It's a fun game and I liked it a lot. Next month, my friends have invited me to play at river city airsoft. They said, we will be playing 'Capture the flag. This time I'am so ready, I bought a gun of my own, Vegaforce airsoft gun MK17 CQC. Now, I have never played capture the flag. So, I was learning watching videos on you tube. I'd like to get some tips for playing. I also get confused with the hand signs. |

Hand signs? Not sure what that means.
Capture the flag is a pretty simple concept. Step 1: Don't let them get your flag Step 2: Get their flag Step 3: Bring it back to your base/flag |

Not Eye Safe, Pretty Boy Maximus on the field take his picture!

the best way to win any scrim is to start with the basics: shoot more of them than they do of you

Depends on the CTF game type. Get their flag and capture it to your base, get your flag and push it to theirs, etc? Usually it's get there's (from their base or close) and then capture it to your base. Typically you must have both (yours and theirs) to win. Aggression and teamwork is the key to victory. Push up hard, run back to respawn and get back in the game quickly, pinser formation attack. Start by gaining hard ground right away, get everyone to move their asses early to acquire the most ground, then keep them on the defensive. If you can't get through with a push, send a small group around behind them to try and sneak it out. You'll get the hang of it, just go have some fun.

Being sneaky works too...depends on the crowd and the general mood of the day. Last year we had a guy walk right in to the enemy base like it was no big deal and walk right out with it while everybody was so busy defending against random fire. We went for the 'omnidirectional assault'...complete chaos. It worked like a charm.

And don't be afraid to get shot. Many new guys to Airsoft are just scared of being hit. I know I was. Not so much anymore.

CTF has a few different play rules..just be sure to listen to the ref explaining the rules...
hand signs? I assume when you are hit you put your hand up sometimes it's you have to defend your flag and try to capture theirs. Which is true for both teams. It could also be that there is only one flag at the centre of the map, that both teams are trying to capture. (personally think this one is crap, because no matter how long you defended the flag, if they get it the last second, they win)

Drop the rifle, get a pistol, and run for your life!
I'm usually a "lone wolf", evaluate situations as they come. In capture the flag, you don't always need to shoot everyone, let them pass and you can probably sneak in and out. It all depends, but once you get the flag go. Speed wins Last edited by MatthewRyan; September 6th, 2016 at 00:53.. |
