ICS MP5SD5 forgrip mod
ok, going to make this short and easy.
i have a ICS mp5sd5 on hold for me untill i come up with the funds. now what iam looking for is to drill 2 holes in the forgrip to put 20mm rail's on it, both sides and bottom of the for grip. now since its the SD5 i can stick a larg battery in the stock, so room as far as i know shouldnt be a problem for washers and bolts inside the forgrip. what iam asking is, can this be done, will the forgrip crack on me while drilling, has anyone done this befor? or a much better way... is there a new metal for grip i can buy for under $200 CDN that will fit on the ICS MP5 SD5? |

sharp bit, no problem. just don't put too much pressure on it while ur drilling. if u had a drill press it would help but if u don't i hope u have steady hands.

I think the plastic would break after a while because of the weight on the rails.
IMO, the beauty of the SD5 is the foregrip as is. If you are looking for a way to attach accessories to it, there is a more standard way. What you are doing is the equivalent of screwing rails on a silencer.

on the ICS MP5, it's white metal, it's not very much stronger than plastic. My friend broke his gun in half and it's an ICS... Realisticaly speaking, that mod would be unrealistic, but whatever float your boat man. It may end up looking good.

Here's an idea that I haven't had time to do. Front sight mount like the link in the previous post but then add a TM figure-8 to allow for both laser and light off the right side of the front sight in an over-under config. This way you don't need the ring clamps on the suppressor. I haven't had the time to file my figure-8 down to do this but it's a relatively easy mod. The only thing left would be a vertical grip somewhere if you really wanted it.
You only need two relatively inexpenive parts: front sight mount and figure-8; both of which are TM accessories. |

I just don't understand why someone would bother modding their gun in such an unrealistic fashion. Drilling holes in an integrated silencer?!
