Newly purchased M1 Garand not firing.

Just purchased an M1 Garand from Hero Outdoors.

Charged up the new battery, plug it in, safety off - nothing.

After about 20-25 trigger pulls, I hear the motor spin up, but no pop from the barrel.

I've contacted the dealer for next steps.

In the mean time, am I missing anything stupid?

Every Garand demands a blood offering to appease it. Offer it your thumb and see if it accepts you as its new master.

If that doesn't work, well you've failed the bonding ritual and should probably return it and get another one.

Bad battery? Did you try another? Another with higher voltage?

Yeah I would just return it. If it doesn't work and it's brand new. I wouldn't tear it apart trying to fix it. Best to exchange it.

Return it and exchange it for another one.

Don't fiddle with it.
