Looking for a new Plate Carrier :)

Hey guys, recently I've been rocking the following plate carrier in OD:
OneTigris Hunting Military Molle FSBE Style Tactical Carrier Vest with 7 Customizable Modular Pouches (Tan): Amazon.ca: Sports & Outdoors

I found a couple of problems with it though:
1. MOLLE webbing doesn't have equal spacing (not really a problem, zip ties fixed the problem)
2. The "cummerbund" on the sides did not go all the way around, so I could not attach any pouches on the sides.

Therefore, I am now looking for a new plate carrier in OD (preferably in the same shape. I'm really fond of the shape). I found the perfect size for me to be 7 MOLLE "lines" tall.
My budget is about $100-150

What do you guru's think?
If plates are not included, were do you guys get em?

Based on my experience I'd recommend a Phantom/Pantac plate carrier:

When I ran NATO kit, I had this and it was a great vest. It was well made and very durable. It had more than enough MOLLE real-estate for what I needed. In terms of plates, I simply made my own out of cardboard to fill it out nicely.

I found the following:
http://www.ebay.ca/itm/151340481020

it's made out of 1000D cordura.
I don't suppose any of you guys have experience with it?

I dont have expwrience with that specific carrier, but ive had tmc pouches before. The brand is okay for the price point but as always cheaper gear can be hit or miss, especially as you stated your current rigs molle dont line up too well. My suggestion find something condor, like this ----> http://www.airsoftcanada.com/showthr...carrier+condor

LBT project honour website has a few plate carriers designed for people wanting quality kit and low prices. In fact they just started to market a low end LBT RRV, that I might even get. They have OD, brown, DCU, Multicam, M81 Woodland and Project Honour cam for sale.

Your vest is a FSBE AAV vest.

Have you considered a Jump Plate Carrier?

I love this place for the gear. around the Toronto area, gear I get from Badlands Paintball & Airsoft and Ripple Industries. Guns, well the usual spots in the GTA.

If you are buying Condor see the vest in-person before you buy.

I only own one condor pouch, and it is the hardest to weave because the tolerances on the webbing are off, plus the strap piece you weave is too short, so the buttons don't even clasp.

Two of my friends have Condor vests and the spacing of the MOLLE is wack. You can tell just by looking at it weaving is going to be a nightmare, or in some cases simply won't fit.

I've looked into the condor stuff, but it seems that most people find it excessively heavy. Plus, it seems like their thread strength is only 330D, not 1000D.

I'm 6 feet tall and weigh 187lbs, so I'm pretty average when it comes to measurements. I'm just worried the vest I linked above will be too short.

Problem with the chinese vests isn't the material, it's the SEWING. Not only are the molle slots all different sizes, but the thread for sewing is very weak.

Also, most new modern plate carriers are made of 500D nylon or lighter. 1000D is great if you want your PC to last the next 30 years, most of us don't keep PC's that long lol

I have the Condor Cyclone it's the same as the Tag Banshee. Nice light weight setup, also made in USA.

Replica and airsoft level plate carriers and gear come in two varieties; over-priced and piece of shit.

You can get high quality, real steel plate carriers from between $100 and $1,000 depending on your tastes and budget.

I've also heard rumors that a browncoat patch exists somewhere...but yes, if you could hook up a fellow browncoat or two with the serenity patch, that'd be shiny.
