This is correct, some people today didn't experience or have forgotten about those days.
The only benefit I can see in having a BFL, WRT importing GBB pistols, is leveraging practical experience in importing incomplete firearms and credibility in front of the CBSA. Those are things that come with running a real firearm business, rather than just by getting a BFL. Legally, the BFL itself is nominally irrelevant for airsoft business.
