Passing of Jay Forbes
It is with a very heavy heart that I share the loss of our friend Jay Forbes. Many of you did not know him, but you know his work.
Jay was an avid Vietnam War Reenactor and had attended many airsoft events. He'd been in the sport for over eight years and had contributed enormously to historical airsoft. What you may know him for is the Highway of Heroes. Jay Forbes was the man behind the petition to have the highway 401 renamed the Highway of Heroes. His dedication to veterans was astounding, travelling by bus from Windsor to Coburg just to stand on an overpass for Cpl. Dorion. http://www.ctvnews.ca/stretch-of-401...eroes-1.253817 His knowledge of the 173d Airborne Brigade was limitless. He'd attended brigade reunions in the US, forged many relationships with vets, and had become a staple in may of the reenacting. He was only 30. A service for Jay will be held in Windsor on Saturday. See the Ontario Events section here for the details. Home is where you dig it, my friend. You'll always have a place to rest with us. Airborne all the way.
