Classic Army UMC (HK UMP) Thread [Please Read 1st Post]
Hi, I've recently (May 2010) purchased a Classic Army UMC.
I would just like to compile some helpful information concerning this AEG (for Past/Present/Future Users);
I do not want this to become a discussion thread that will end up talking about how an M4 or an AK is better.
- I would be careful if you like to crawl on the ground with this AEG, as the long mags could probably easily get caught in branches and although it feels solid, I'm not one to test HOW solid things are. And it's just awkward to crawl with it anyways.. it's made for you to run and kneel. - You're supposed to be able to clip the stock in the folded position, but you have to exert so much force to lift it on the clip, I would be VERY concerned about the hinge eventually breaking or cracking. This for now seems to be the only most serious flaw I've encountered, could probably be remedied with shortening the clip that holds the stock folded. - Limited battery space. While I haven't looked for a compatible 9.6V (I like the rate of fire of a 8.4V), the compartment is barely much bigger than an 8.4V AK-style battery. This may be of concern to some who would like to use huge 2000+ mAh batteries or higher rates of fire. I'd jsut recommend carrying 2 1400/1600mAh batteries.
G&G also have 50-/100-round mags, which I recommend, because the 400+round high-caps are hell'a'noisy when you run around!
While I haven't found anywhere that stores a interesting array of Classic Army parts, I would recommend looking at www.airsoftgi.com and www.redwolfairsoft.com as they seem to have some of the G&G UMG parts as well. Remember to please keep your comments informative and to the point, thank you. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- OFFICIAL WEBSITE PICTURES VIDEOS Last edited by GODSPEED|seven; September 12th, 2010 at 17:33.. Another question, does the umc use the same internals as the g36? I know it's a version 3 but are the nozzle, tappet plate and selector plate the same as g36?
Thanks |

I know its been a few months, but did you end up purchasing the UMC mags from airsoft helper? And if so, did you receive them? I've read mixed reviews on the site and I am hesitant to order anything as I have been scammed before. I have a UMG myself and I don't want to have to buy 10 mags at 20-25$ a piece to get 500 rds, when I could buy 5. This is absurd for an AEG. Does anyone know if the Umarex mags can be modded to fit? Maybe cut off those fins?
