AK74 Laminate wood kits

I know there's quite a few AK fans and AK purists here so I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction.

I'm interested in picking up another laminate wood stock and hand guards for my GHK AK74 but I've got no idea where to source a set from. I'd like one on hand to replace my current set as I want to reduce dent and scratches considering I can't get a replacement wood kit from Samoon.

I'm interested in finding a pristine brand new wood set (for display purposes) and also a set that I won't mind dinging up (surplus set?).

I've only found a couple of companies which deal in new laminate AK74 wood furniture and its either above my budget or brand new unfinished wood without the metal hardware, neither of which really meet my budget or need.

GHK is compatible with real AK, no? If that's the case I'd get real steel wood and go with it. Real thing would probably not be in pristine condition but that's what an AK should look like. Even better, "kill" upper with fire. Real guns have charred uppers from firing.

It is, which is why its somewhat difficult to find a pristine kit lol. All the nice "brand new" kits are US made kits selling for $200-300. I can find the LCT AK74 wood kits which would fit w/ the adapter but its just an AKM stock with a relief cut, the sling swivel is in the wrong location which bugs me more than it should...

I do want to put together a "worn" wood kit as well, which should be easier to find once I start scouring for a surplus set, won't worry about dinging that set up at all.

I wonder who supplies GHK with their wood furniture... I messaged them about it but they've said GHK doesn't list it as a purchasable part... if I can source a new set from their supplier then I'll just leave the current one on and let it get dented and dinged. I just want a new set on standby for when I want it to look nice and new.

Though tbh, I'm after the stock more than the hand guards. I can use the LCT hand guards so those aren't a problem to find.

Might be a stupid question, but have you checked red-alliance.net ? They probably have more AK enthusiasts over there than we have here. Buy/sell section there is also pretty good. You can also check out ar-15.com I haven't been on it for years but they did have buy/sell section for AK parts. I think my RPK wood handguards came from there.

That's actually a great idea, I haven't checked red-alliance, should actually make an account over there, wonder if they know where I can find a Draco gas block, need one for a LCT project I'm planning. I saw some older FS posts on AR15 with what I want but nothing recent. I'll probably keep an eye out on both sites more.

Will probably take me a while to find what I want so in the meantime... I'll convert my AK into a FSB inspired build, rather beat up an AR stock than an AK stock... feels like blasphemy though.

Well the stock is correct but the finish on E&L's wood doesn't actually look that great if you look closely; LCT looks much better IMO. That and I'd prefer a proper stock without the use of an adapter if possible. The hand guards I can get from LCT, though I'd prefer a matching set if possible.

All that being said... I think Iron Wood Designs probably has the best looking stocks, the only problem is they're unfinished blanks so I'd need to figure out how to apply a finish and source all the hardware.
