Goggles

Hey folks,
I am still rather new to the sport, and have been looking for good quality goggles. My problem is I wear glasses, and don't wear contacts often. So I need to find goggles that fit me while wearing glasses, other than resorting to a full face mask. Any suggestions? I could really use your help.

how big are your frames?

I use BOLLE X-800 but they don't fit big, square frames.

any military goggle with the prescription carrier is probably going to be the best bet. Just get new lenses cut for the carrier and go. You can cheap out on all the coatings and lightweight lenses.. it turns out to be pretty cheap if you do it that way. Otherwise contacts just for games.

Yeah - that's what I figured I would have to do - wear contact lenses I mean. The option for those lenses are appearling, but because of my nasty prescription, I would still be forking out a retarded amount of cash - like 4 to 500 bucks just for lenses. Its stupid.

Guess I will buy a decent pair of goggles and go with contacts.

I'd get them priced anyways, I'm on the threshold of not being able to wear disposable contacts anymore if my eyes get any worse. My lenses for glasses usually cost anywhere from 300-500$ but when I had a set of lenses done for my backup goggles it was 60-70 bucks.

For anyone with experience with the Rx inserts for military goggles, how was getting the insert and the lenses made? I've been thinking about it but with a prescription in the -800 range, I'm still not sure

My PX is sitting at -14ish so its pricy - going to check it out though. Any idea how much insert goggles are running these days?

I started airsoft with what I thought was one of the "best" low/no fog full seal goggle options (ESS Advancer V12). I bought defog spray, and pre-treated them too. Worked mostly very good, but they still fog/condense in the heat, especially when you stop moving around for any extended period.

Switched over to Smith OTW fan goggles and am super pleased. Comfortable, extremely quiet fan, and they haven't fogged at all, not even a little. RX insert for the OTW is $25.

Thank you all so much for your information - I managed to get some Oakley ESS Goggles for a good price, and they fit perfectly! Comfortable, and zero fog. I couldn't ask for better goggles. See you on the battlefield - Cheers

Test them out first, the words Oakley and ESS should not be be together, I hope that you wrote with a typo... But

Sorry - meant to say I have a pair of ESS goggles, and a pair of Oakley glasses that I can wear when I have contacts in - so I have the option.

Well tomorrow I'll go pick up my Revision Desert Locust at the post office (mail guy run off again before I could unlock the door).
I wear prescription glasses, I'll see how the Revision fits over it.

Edit: They don't :/ Well Rx are the best option overall if you don't wear lens.
