I'll actually be helpful here. He may be young, but he just doesn't understand what he's doing guys.
Maybe make more effort to help him comprehend his situation instead of just flaming off the handle.

The BB's cannot impede the function of the gearbox, they simply get popped into place in the hop chamber, then a burst of air from the mechbox shoots them out.
Where the .12s become a problem is they get jammed down the barrel, slowing down the forward movement of the piston. But that will not slow down the gears.
At worst, the gears will engage the piston too early and strip teeth off.

Furthermore, if a gear was in fact "misaligned" most likely the shaft on it is broken. If the mechbox is metal, it's not physically possible for a gear to simply pop out of place, it would have had to move sideways over 3mm in order to come out of the bushing.

Real airsoft games have FPS limits USING a .20 gram BB. A typical gameface shots 325 FPS with a .12 BB which translates to about 252 FPS with a 20 gram BB. I don't know of any games where that would be just under the limit.

It was probably an illegal game in the woods or an abandoned building high school brats being dumbasses.

so I was easily correct about the 2-3x the range portion. What of my other assumptions and judgments, I wonder?

I was going to redeem the guy and say it could make an excellent sleeper ...

But 239.99$ at CT? Hell no.

king arms m4 territory right there... jebus.

actually 10 guns probably off the top of my head that price or cheaper.

but judging by his 'self righteous, own the world' teenager attitude, CT and 240$ is about what mommy/daddy budget allowed for.

Wait till he's back on here begging for help after he trips on his own feet and busts the gun into 100 pieces, needs it back together before mommy catches him and takes away his allowance and grounds him from the play ground wars.
