Inner Barrel Clearance to Suppressor
Replaced my inner barrel with a 455mm one. The inner barrel is ~1mm recessed from the front of the suppressor.
Anyone foresee any issues with this? |

Apart from the fact the silencer is now useless and you didn't need a 455mm barrel to begin with? nope, no problem
What did you have before? And what brand is your new barrel? |

Dont have a chrono yet (in the mail) so cant compare FPS between the two. The type 0 cylinder is also in the mail. Not really concerned about suppressing any noise. Last edited by Pointy; January 11th, 2014 at 21:41.. |

Well you assumed incorrectly
The actual bore of the barrel isn't critical, is the QUALITY of the bore The tighter the barrel is, the sooner you will lose accuracy due to fouling, the tightest you should ever go is 6.03, but I'd recommend the PDI 6.05 or 6.08 I'm currently using an orga 6.10 on my PTW with fantastic results and I'll be putting an orga 6.13 in my 249 For best accuracy and range, you want to run as heavy of ammo as you can, high quality hop rubber (PDI-W or Rhop) and a high quality barrel (not madbull) There's also no perceivable difference between a 407 and 455 barrel. If a pistol with a 4" barrel and a marui M16 with a 20" barrel achieve the same range and accuracy, then what difference is an extra 2" going to make? |

For curiosity sake did some minor testing on FPS. With 0.20 gram BBs, and all things equal (Lonex SP120 Gearbox)
- Madbull 6.01 455mm Barrel - Average FPS - 357 - PDI 6.05 284mm Barrel - Average FPS - 401 Suspect this is directly related to the barrel length vs cylinder porting. Think I will just run the PDI. |

Many people run a gun with a standard inner barrel that ends where the outer barrel does, and then also have a suppressor on the end. As long as your suppressor is straight (so BB's don't hit it) you're fine.

I test fired the gun with the 284mm inner, and the suppressor; no issues.

I have a 335mm suppressor on my P* and my barrel ends at the end of my outer barrel. I have seen no difference in range or accuracy vs a flash hider, 7 inch suppressor or 13 inch suppressor. Im using a Prommy 407mm 6.03 and bob .30's
