Problems With Getting Knights Armament R.A.S. Lined Up
Hi,
So, I have a TM SR16 with a Knights Armament M4 Sniper Free Floating R.A.S. on it. The problem that I am having is that I can never get the R.A.S. to line up perfectly with the rail on the upper receiver. I always get it close, but then it either loosens or I can then tighten it a bit more (messing up the alignment). I have a bunch of metal rings that came with the gun to decrease or increase the distance it takes to screw the R.A.S. onto the receiver, but even with using different numbers of rings I can still never seem to get it quite right. What do people usually do to get the R.A.S completely lined up? Thanks, Josh |

Usually the gas tube helps with that.

Since it's an older KAS FF RAS, it's basically an iterative process.
I would install the barrel nut first with the requisite # of shims, torque to spec, then install the RAS, do the same and check to see how many or less shims you need, keeping the torque spec the same each time. If you're having problems with the RAS loosening, it's because your torque settings are off. |

Yeah, I'm trying to get my hands on a gas tube/block for it.
