M14 Inner Barrel Length
I have a CYMA M14 (Full Length) and assumed that i could replace the inner barrel with a Prometheus M14 (500mm)
I measured my stock barrel today and it's 570mm!!! Does anybody make an M14 cut barrel that long? |

Prometheus makes a 550, 550 is probably what you want if 500 is too short http://www.airsoftparts.ca/store2/in...oducts_id=1381
The lengths usually go 500, 509, 550, 590. Last edited by OM3GA; May 30th, 2013 at 00:36.. |

All aeg barrels are cut the same with the exception of the PSG1 and PTW's (Correction: and tm m14's and it's clones, derp.), when it says for m14 it's referring to length. A 500mm barrel is usually referred to as a "standard" m14 barrel.
The window's them selves may be cut different but the only time that really matters is when you are doing an rhop mod. Prommy isn't your only option either, almost all companies that make inners make a 550mm but prommy barrels are awesome. Last edited by OM3GA; May 30th, 2013 at 21:13.. |

Not Eye Safe, Pretty Boy Maximus on the field take his picture!

you can use a 509, you can't turn fast enough to have the BB hit the wall or anything, and all that extra barrel is just leaving room for more fouling

This is not accurate. The M14 cut doesn't only refer to the length but more importantly the cut on the barrel for fitting into the Hop up itself. (the cuts that your c-clip locks into) The hop up rubber on an M14 is much shorter than a standard AEG I have placed several inner barrels side by side (next to the M14) and the cuts on the M14 barrel are in a different location than the other barrels. I need a specific M14 inner barrel at 570MM (or longer) or i'll just have to leave it stock. Im not going from 570MM down to 509.. otherwise why did i buy the full length M14.. i think it's kinda stupid that CYMA made an inner barrel that is not made by any other manufacturer..oh well.. the stock CYMA barrel is not bad .. it's a 6.04 tight-bore with a nice looking crown. It will just have to do i guess Last edited by Bar1975; May 30th, 2013 at 19:49.. |

So they are different, that is good to know. Apparently TM and TM clones have a different cut. Classic army and G&G use normal aeg cut barrels.
It is pretty stupid but I have noticed the same with other oem barrels. At least it's a decently made 6.04. |

Squid Porn Superstar, I love the tentacles!

You could just get a barrel that's a few cm short. It really won't make that much of a difference.

in this picture it show you the cut on the barrel for the hop-up unit (the text is part in french) the 6.01 is a madbull and wont fit due to those cut.... so i must find someting else too. any idea??? i'am waiting a confirmation for the fitting of this one... from their tech. http://www.evike.com/product_info.php?products_id=40987 Last edited by Dutch_McBain; June 3rd, 2013 at 21:26.. |

Good news, the Angel Custom G2 SUS304 Stainless Steel 6.01mm Airsoft Tightbore Inner Barrel comes with both barrel cuts, so they will fit most of the airsoft on the market for a low price.

I've read that if replacing the CYMA M14 Inner Barrel specifically.. anything less than a Prometheus is more than likely not worth the money.. in some cases it's actually worse than the stock barrel.. apparently the stock is not to bad..

I've never come across a 570mm, and I also use the Cyma M14ebr. Your best bet is to get a 590, and then a barrel extension. But you're gonna need to upgrade your hop up bucking and air nozzle. I've read that Cyma Vsr7 gearboxes have trouble past the standard 570mm barrel.
