Tight Bore Barrel "Break-In"???

Hi all,

Just wanted to get your thoughts on whether a tight bore barrel really need a "break-in" period... i've read this quite a bit, but really cant see the logic behind it. i.e. is the BB suppose to shape the barrel to be more accurate? (didnt make sense to me)

So just wanted to get the thoughts of the community on this topic.

Thanks!

Nope.

If your BB is "shaping the barrel" enough to affect trajectory during the initial period of using it, then you have bigger things to worry about. Having said that, Madbull aluminum barrels have been known to wear out over time for that exact reason.

Wont happen. Barrels made of aluminum and brass will wear out over time (ie become inconsistant in bore because of the bb causing dents) but stainless ones should last a long time as long as you dont run silica or aluminium bbs. Hop up rubbers have a bit of a break in period. But not barrels.
Should be noted that the newer madbull barrels (the coated ones black 6.03 and grey 6.01) can/may/should technically become worn out over time as well.
