IS this a good SpecterDR x1-4 clone?
http://www.evike.com/product_info.ph...ducts_id=37236
I am looking for a SpecterDR x1-4 illuminated scope for my LMG. The real steel $1,800 dollar version is out. was wondering if anyone has any postive experiance with any of the many clones of this scope? |

If it's anything like the other SpecterDR clones I've seen, there's a POI shift between 1x and 4x.

Maybe the right term wasn't used here...I suppose it's more of a reticle shift.
ie: if you zero the gun in at 4x, then dial it back out to 1x, then the reticle is now pointed at a slightly different location. Which basically means - as a variable zoom optic, it fails. Again, I am not sure about this particular clone, but it's impossible to tell which factory it came from. |

Who needs optics on a LMG... Just shoot the damn thing the bb's come out in a line and you can see it as they're flying out of the barrel. It's a mini laser gun, I went a full summer season just doing that with my m249.

I don't think a good clone of that optic exists.

I agree with Danke. Also with Stealth. That reticle shift in a pain in the rump. I've had two from different companies and they both have that issue to differing degrees.

The consensus seems to be the fixed 4x one is better. You can get them with either a piggybacked DocterSight for 1x.

Apparently G&G just came out with a good replica, free of reticle shift, though I haven't tried it. It's about $250 if memory serves me right
Lol My saw lacks iron sights at the moment, let alone an optic. |

From what I've heard/read about real world usage, operators aren't even shifting it on the field. If its used in a CQB-ish environment it might get put in 1x (and stay there), otherwise it stays in 4x and secondary sights/optics are used and/or the sight is used a bit like a OEG while in 4x.

The 4X fixed repro is awesome.
