Mp7 Sling/retention options (Sniper loadout help)
I'm planning on running my TM VSR and KWA Mp7 for my loadout this year. I just need a comfortable means of swapping between both and mainly keep my mp7 from flopping around on me too much when moving. Despite being a smaller gun, the Mp7 does have a bit of heft in it and the leg holster I have would feel awkward I think.
I'm trying to establish better gear for this year and i'm kinda unsure how to approach it. What do you folks do for this kind of thing? Thanks Last edited by Strelok; March 13th, 2013 at 12:51.. |

I have this dilemma as well... I was thinking the 3 way holster and put it on the hip. The only problem is I run the long mags so that bitch sticks out almost like a tail to get caught on stuff. You can also mount it on your back but I'm not sure how accessible it is at the small of your back.
There's a little kydex one that I don't trust for shit.. and the aforementioned drop leg which is huge, especially if you run the large mags.

How about a single point on the weak side and a weapon's catch? Run the 20 round mag too to help with the bulk.

On the small of your back with the mag/grip facing upwards and it will be easy to grab.
Shoulder holster u can sling the rifle while moving and hold the mp7 then when you hit yer ffp just lay the mp7 infront of you close to your off had for quick acess in a pinch also you can just rig up a two point sling to cary it. I mean really if you think about it its like my mp5k i carry i just cary it while on the move with my vsr slung and lay it in easy reach when in my ffp i do use a magpul ms3(1 to 2 point sling) for it but rarely need to use it as im either holding the mp5 or have it laying close. I 1 point it while walking out to start games and such but mostly just cary it. If you really wanna run it on a drop leg adjust it so its behind your leg not on the side same way i run my pistol as once prone if its on the side its more of a pain to grab andbit gets hung up on undergrowth if its to the side and will dig into my leg if im laying more on my side. Another option you may consider is riging the holster to the stock or front(near the bipod rail) of the rifle. Its easy to get at and you can just carry kne gun baisically. I used to run a glock on my stock.

Have you considered an MS2 or MS3 sling? Lightweight, adaptable, plentiful replicas and available as real steel too.
Very quick yet secure sling if adjusted properly. |

The issue in this application is you don't want it flopping around, but when you need it, you need it NOW.
see if you can find 65 or 82 pattern Canadian Gasmask bag, and mount this on your belt rig, weak side flank. The bag should be big enough to hold the gun, but also be low profile enough to not bulk you out. In addition it should be snag free so that when you are ghillied up you don't end up all snagged up on slings. Run a MS2 Or 3 sling, single point rigged. high and tight.. if you need to deploy the MP7, pull it out .. clip it to the sling and go.. Also once in your firing position you can pull out the MP7, lay it in front of you for personal defense, and then stick it back in the bag if you have to move..

seen that, but it leaves the selector switch and trigger exposed.. not a safe carry option for a secondary in my opinion.

Magpul RSA + MS2/3 (or a Ferro Tactical sling) = excellent mp7 retention. Will sit on your back but easily accessible
