Mouth protection WITH cheekweld- options?
So I picked up the AMC mask with ear protection- big mistake. Totally messes with the cheek weld and now Im considering the AMC face mask which is alot smaller but might still get in the way.
Also considering just wearing a shmegh, not worried about my face at all just more so the teeth really. what do yall find works? |

But to answer your question, I just use a mouthguard that was made custom for me, + a balaclava.

I used the protech mouthguard!!! Have been for the last 3 years!! It's comfy, dont make you gag, and you custom fit it!! Plus now, i have braces, and cant wear just anything... I got shot once in the mouth, so i can say it works!! Hope that helps!!

+1 on the half mesh. Covers good amount of lower face and is vented for normal breathing.

as mentioned in this forum before though, you'll have to cut the half mesh down to size if you plan on wearing goggles

halfmesh mask
tin snips glue gun. you can easily tear the lining off the mesh mask... cut to your desired shape, stretch and glue the lining back on. problem solved. |

I find my mesh lowers fit fine with my ESS goggles. I've got the generic mask that goes all the way back over the ears.
As long as your mesh fits with your goggles, and your mesh doesn't push your goggles higher than your helmet will allow it (assuming you run a helmet), you're fine. You shouldn't worry if there's a small gap between your goggles and mesh. It's actually better that way. If your mesh touches your lower goggles, a little bump on the mesh will push your goggles up, breaking the seal at the bottom of your goggles. In one game, I got shot right in the gap between my goggles and mesh, and it stung, so I absentmindedly pushed my mesh up to touch my goggles. After my respawn, I got shot in the same place, but this time the BB ricocheted directly into my goggles, and that was a lot scarier than just getting hit on the bridge of the nose. |

Also, the lower profile mesh mask, the one without the ear protection is great. So long as you reshape it to fit your face it allows a fairly good cheek weld for use of optics in a regular setup. |

Yep, bend the mesh around your face and nose and don't have the strap tight.
I set mine up to cover my teeth and that is it
