I've used the old milspec NODs. They were bulky and heavy and used batteries like crazy.
I'd put the consumer stuff like Yukon on par with the image; and they're much smaller with better battery life.

I'm pretty sure Consumer stuff like Yukon have better image and battery life but not the gain of a cascade. I mean they don't have to power up 3 gen 1 tubes and have fibre optics connecting all 3 together.
