Open top drop leg question

I'm looking to get a drop leg holster for my HK USP Full Size.

The one I've been looking at recently is the G-CODE REAC drop leg. Seen here

I was watching a review by airsoftgi and the guy was saying I should have the XST RTI version because it has a spring loaded retention cover so that when I'm running the pistol doesn't come out. I can get the level 1 holster with the spring loaded cover for a lot less so my question is:

Does anyone here run an open top drop leg and have you had any problems with the pistol coming out of the holster?

If anyone can recommend a different holster that would be good too. Keep in mind I am using a HK USP full size and I am left handed.

Thanks

I have a blackhawk serpa thigh holster. Best holster I have ever had. It does nt bounce around like the soft shell holsters. There is a way to adjust it so you can loosen and tighten it to some degree. My holster has the option to place a spring loaded blocker over the gun to ensure it does not fall out. I leave it down so its open top and have had zero occasions of my weapon falling out of the holster. Aside from you doing some ninja flips and what not your gun should stay in no issues with an open top.

Avoid drop leg for field use, everyone I know who has lost a pistol had been running a drop leg rig.

If you go with a drop leg you want it's secure as possible , a few $ more for solid retention is far less than replacing a lost pistol
