What happens is that you either wear or break the parts in the trigger box. As said...you're supposed to be only able to cock it in semi...and should not be able to move the selector to safe without it cocked.
But being what they are...you can, especially as parts wear. i.e. on my new-ish PDW I have to cock it to move the selector to safe (I'm sure I could force it though)....on my much used M4 I can now move it to safe and cock the action from hammer down, whereas I couldn't when it was new. |

Safety should only be engage-able when the hammer is cocked (i.e., you've racked the bolt). If you can engage the safety with the bolt closed, or cycle the bolt with the safety on, then something is definitely wrong with the trigger pack. So... Question... Did you disassemble the trigger pack for any reason (e.g., steel trigger upgrade)? |

If you don't tear the gun down and re-lube, and loctite what needs to be.. you will have problems with the gun. It will become in short order an interestingly shaped paper weight.

Gas Guns are very easy to work with... I'm scared of AEGs! There's black magic in there!!
With gas guns if you take a look at the instructions and just really think it through You'll do just fine.

when i learn how to take out the trigger assembly safely and where to lube, i will. but now im mostly just waiting for redwolf to respond

lol could anyone show me how to take out the trigger assembly? the only thing i found when i searched for it was some german guide

The general disassembly of the lower is very much the same as the m4.
http://wem4guide.wikidot.com/lower-receiver-takedown Start at step 5 for getting the pdw trigger group out In step 9, when you pull the mech straight up and out...be careful of the spring and knocker cut off on the right side (not shown in the pic). The cutoff is referred to as part#66 for the m4. It will tend to pop out and the spring will really fly out. When you're taking the mech out, put your finger over it as soon as you see it. Then once it's out, take the spring and cutoff out for safe keeping. Lots of other good stuff there too Last edited by m102404; July 26th, 2012 at 08:40.. |
