Cobra GMRS: Headset Pin?
I'm looking to purchase these radios:
http://www.canadiantire.t /AST/browse/7/Electronics/3/PhonesFRS/GMRSGeneralMobileRadioService/PRDOVR~0697994P/Cobra+GMRS+Bundle%2C+45+Km+Range.jsp?locale=en Does anyone have these? What type pin is it? I know it's not Kenwood but what is the size of it? Is it 3.5mm? Unable to find any info for this. |

I'm pretty sure it's a Motorola Jack

I have these radios. It's a 3.5mm pin. However, I bought a Cavalvy headset with a Motorola single pin PTT and I came to the conclusion that it's not compatible with these radios.
The issue is that he microphone won't work and the earphone is ridiculously loud. At first I thought the PTT was broken so I bought another one and still have the same issue. Probably a wiring thing... So beware of cavalvy headsets if you buy these radios. I know other PTT works just fine tough.

I have these exact radios, except mine are blue.
What Ozone said, Motorola 1 pin Jack. I bought a Element Calvary headset for mine and it works, the only thing is that the push to talk button on the headset must be pressed down at all time (I just taped it down). Once you do that you can transmit through the mic by pushing the push to talk button the radio. The reason behind this is Cobra use a slightly different pin jack then Motorola's (Coachster explained it to me once upon a time). If you don't mind that little mod then your golden, if not just buy a motorola radio, your a lot better off. |
