@ Lubba: I think you may be referring to hunters and stuff up in the North. As far as I know they're allowed to carry rifles/shotguns for protection from bears, timber wolves, etc. In populated areas because there is no need we're not allowed. But we are more open to airsoft here in Canada than Germany thats for sure. In fact I hear people from the Rhienland and North Rhien also go over to France or Netherlands to play or something.
Also, I was in Munich last year and even being an English speaker, while I was hanging out with some friends and I felt that there was a marked difference between the German accent/tone/pace there as compared to when I was in Mannheim, or Mainz/Wiesbaden, or Austria.

Well I come from Strasbourg (France), We played a lot with some Germans from Kehl and around. That were really amazing
