Umarex AEGs and GBBRs?

I'm thinking of getting an MP5 and I'm looking for more info on the Umarex ones - specifically the AEGs.

I can't seem to find much info on them other than they are blowback AEGs made by G&G. Are they any good?

Umarex is a rebrander, you gotta becareful who makes them.

Traditionally Umarex rebrand POS stuff hence the reason why people hated Umarex (beside suing Trademark, Tradedress)

Umarex's
H&K GBB Pistols & HK GBB MP7 are made by KWA
H&K G36K/C, 416 & MP5 GBB are made by VFC
H&K 416/417 AEG are made by VFC
H&K G36 and its variants AEG are made by ARES
H&K UMP, MP5 (high end one) are made by G&G?!? (I'm not sure)

The entire Umarex line up in AEG is really messy right now, Elite Force aka Umarex's higher end one are typically mid-high end company.

So assuming that the MP5 (full metal) is a G&G, how do they fair against the competition?

The reason I'm asking is that I'm looking for an MP5 for collection and maybe to take with me on the field. Id Like to make sure it's as realistic as possible so it needs to have full trades, but I want to make sure it'll perform as well.

The G&G MP5s sold by Umarex are G&G's top-tier grade gearboxes and externals, sold under the brand Top-Tech. They are absolutely awesome in quality and construction.

+1

A friend of mine has one. It is very highly quality and looks as real as it gets.

I recently purchased a G&G MP5. That thing shoots like a laser. The externals are very nice too. Not sure how well the gearbox willl hold up in the long run, but my initial impressions of the gun are very good.

I disagree. That list shows they have good judgement when choosing OEM partners for their products.

If someone were looking for the most realistic MP5 replica, it would be impossible to look beyong the Umarex GBB MP5. Gas guns will always have a better appearance of realism.

I bought a G&G mp5 Max a few months ago. I agree with you on the accuracy. Very accurate out of the box. Externals are very well done. Gamed several times without issue.

How does the GBB differ from the AEG in terms of appearance?

I have the Umarex MP5 AEG.

The externals are rock solid, it shoots 370ish out of the box and is quite accurate for a shorter barrel.

No issues what so ever.

I think the gbb are overall externally nicer than the aeg bc of almost only high end gbb manufacture are licensed.
