Kind of a weird question.
Hey guys, so this is a bit of a weird question, and I really hope I don't get chewed out for this one :P LOL
and if this is in the wrong section I'm sorry and mods, please move to the correct area. My question is simple, I have a M16, is it possible to convert it to take "7.62" mags... in more detail, I pretty much wanna turn it into something like a SR-25, and by "is it possible" I mean, are there parts available to do this (like a 7.62 receiver) This is mainly a theoretical question, but if it is possible, I wouldn't mind trying it.... any help would be greatly appreciated, and I did try the search and google but came up with pretty nothing EDIT: Damn, just realized how dumb I am, the internals would be different, I believe the gearbox for a 7.62 is longer, correct me if im wrong... mods, you can delete this i guess, really sorry for wasting time and space Last edited by K-9; March 12th, 2012 at 02:17.. the 7.62 mags are longer (front to back) and wider than 5.56, so the mag well would be longer and wider to accommodate the larger mag, and so overall both the upper and lower receivers would be wider and longer. thats why there is a SR-25 AEG, it's made larger for that. with the 5.56, the best you can do is make it into an MK12 SPR

ya I knew they were wider and all, I just completely forgot about the internals, as for the MK12, well, I think I may actually go that route, I like the Mod 0, so probably go with that

It's possible, but it would be easier just to buy an SR-25
