Spring upgrade for TSD SD700

Uh, It will. But that spring will explode that rifles internals pretty fast. The gun is pretty low quality, you'll need to replace the triggerbox and a variety of other parts to make it work reliably.
Why are you making it shoot over 500fps? |

The rifle is not going to be gamed, its going to be strictly a target rifle. Thats why i want over 500fps

Correct me if I'm wrong, but if you want a target rifle, you don't need that high of an FPS. All you need is accuracy and reliablity.
Either that or get an airgun.

Yeah. Higher FPS will only make it less stable. Remember you're dealing with a light round projectile.
If you wanna just target shoot, just buy an airgun dude. Airsoft guns will never be as accurate as a pellet rifle. |

Wouldn't a airsoft rifle with high fps and heavy weight bb's be accurate?
I know high fps isn't everything but i thought it would play a toll for distance, I've seen a rifle shooting over 500fps on .40's and it looked pretty accurate. Last edited by smitty564; February 5th, 2012 at 14:05.. |

Still not as accurate as an airgun. If you plan on gaming the rifle as well as using it for target, then yes; By all means, upgrade a sniper rifle.
If you're only using it to shoot paper, then I'd suggest an airgun, just because it's simply that much more accurate; Spherical metal will always have a lower chance of imperfections than the relatively lightweight plastic. FPS isn't everything, my friend.

I'm not saying i want a airsoft rifle more accurate then a pellet airgun. I know airguns are more accurate, but i also don't want a rifle you have to pump up 5 or 6 times just to get one shot off. They make heavyweight aluminum airsoft target bb's for a reason i would think.

1. You don't need to pump airguns. Some, yes, but most of the more sophisticated ones, no.
2. Yes, there are target BB's, but you'd still need a good gun for it. A regular airsoft gun with an M140 spring inside won't propel your BBs any more accurately than with an M110 spring (I believe) due to projectile physics. 3. Please, please, if you're going to do target shooting purely for the sake of target shooting, get an airgun. It's really worth more of your money than upgrading a VSR to shoot 500+ FPS.

I appreciate the info, before i go dumping lots of money in my vsr ill look into airguns. I just hate having to pump them and i don't really want a C02 powered rifle. If there is a alternative out there I'll try and find it.
